VIFW: vancouver indigenous fashion week
Promosa has been a proud partner of Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week since 2019, providing lighting for its shows in 2019, 2021 and 2022. In 2023, the show moved onto the main stage at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, which prompted a redesign of the event to fit into the new, much larger space. Video designer Sean Nieuwenhuis of Sensory Overload created a scenic design using Promosa’s 2.9MM LED wall, which provided a dynamic and dramatic backdrop to showcase Indigenous designers and their creations, as well as providing a canvas to showcase Indigenous art and highlight musical performances. While VIFW has always been a world-class event, the move to the theatre stage allowed for a dramatically increased capacity, and in 2024 nearly all 4 nights of the show were sold out. Promosa worked closely with Sean and the team at Here and Now Productions to ensure the installation of the LED panels in the theatre allowed for seamless access for the models and musicians walking the runway.
